This is new to us; not just the idea of this blog but the choice of putting yourself out into a new process and following through to get started without answers of where it will take you. That's the basic foundation of a road trip, right? Saying, "Yes, let's go!" No definite plans, no script, no expectations, just a general map (ok, so we used Google Maps which is actually very specific but you get the point) and a willingness to participate.

Living so close to Bentonville our whole lives (a quick hour drive from Joplin) and still never having gone to these places before.
Shelbie had heard of a few food trucks set up near the square, she wanted to try the one that served crepes... but it was closed.
Priato was right by & we decided to have it instead!

We asked the server what her favorite pizza was, she suggested the chicken bacon ranch. It was delicious.

Of course we had to refuel at Onyx Coffee Shop!
While sitting at our table, we met a nice man from Tampa, Florida. Once he noticed us taking pictures with a camera, he asked about what we were doing. He said he was "used to seeing most people take pictures with their phones these days, it's refreshing to see young people use cameras".
After we told him a little, he left us with some wisdom. He said,
"Be responsible but keep it fun. Too many people take life too serious, you gotta keep it fun."
We tried the 'Iced Mocha' (left) and the 'Onyx Delight' (right).
Also the Rose (pink) & Vanilla (blue) Macaroons were awesome!

Our next stop was Crystal Bridges. Friendly travel tip: We found out they are closed for cleaning on Tuesdays!
